GIFT IDEAS FOR TEACHERS

Gift Ideas For Teachers is part of a mini-series with thoughts and tips on the art of gift giving. If you find it’s a challenge deciding what to give her, these thank you suggestions will almost certainly help you decide.

Because they play such an important role not only in educating, but setting moral standards, and providing psychological support, most parents welcome the chance to show the teacher their appreciation with a gift. A little “thank you” at the end of the school year or for the Holidays.

Over time you may learn what they like, and don’t like, and what their interests are outside the classroom from what they tell your own children. You can also get clues by talking to other parents and sharing ideas. In fact, you could even consider pooling your money with those parents to buy one larger, more substantial gift.

"They who give have all things; they who withhold have nothing."

Hindu proverb.

THANK YOU SUGGESTIONS

Here is a short list of suggestions we think will help you pull together some fab thank you gift ideas for teachers.

  • It would be wise to set a budget especially if you plan to get gifts for several teachers. Usual amounts are $5 to $25 per teacher.
  • When classroom supplies are limited, a teacher will often provide extra items out-of-pocket. You can give a tote bag filled with pencils, markers, notebooks, stickers and craft materials. How cool is that!
  • Home-baked treats in a cutely decorated tin are generally much appreciated. But first check to make sure your district allows this kind of gift.
  • If you happen to know what the teacher’s interests are, such as, music or embroidery, or if she has a pet, then something related is bound to please.
  • Not sure of her likes and dislikes? Then play it safe with a plant, hand lotion or gift voucher. Try to wrap it in an unusual way and include a hand-written card, to make it look special!

This day is one of several throughout the year when teachers are rewarded for their tireless dedication

Some of these include birthdays, Valentines Day, Mothers Day, graduations and, last but by no means least, Christmas. Links to these pages are to the left, under the heading Occasions To Give as well as at the very bottom of this page.

We’d also like to take this opportunity and invite you to take a look at some of the charities we are supporting. In the left hand column you can click on the appropriate links under the Help A Cause heading. And, because we believe in providing great up-to-date, quality information, we are constantly adding pages about topics related directly to the work they do.

Under the heading Glass - Our Medium we include a brief history of glass and glass making techniques since this is the material we use for our own exclusive pendant designs. Fascinating reading. Do take a look.

For a quick glance at our fundraising glass pendants, you’ll find them arranged in themes under the heading Pendants Pop.  We currently show hearts, animals, nature and stars, with more coming soon. You’ll be able to appreciate the creative process involved in designing them since each group has a close connection to the non-profit it supports. Many are one-of-a-kind and can only be acquired here.

And, of course, you can view our complete collection of pendants together on a single page in our Gift Catalog, which is under the heading Shop. We hope you will be inspired. After all, the slogan which forms part of our logo is our goal: “every pendant, every time, helps a cause.”
